February 2022 wildlife recap
March 8, 2022Compared to January, February of 2022 was far less eventful for photography. I spent a lot of time culling through previous work rather than accumulating new images. I also resumed sharing images to social media after taking a pretty break from the platform.
Kayaking with my camera
My favorite images of the month resulted from another experience using a kayak for bird photography. The slough I kayaked in shrinks to a thin river at low tides, but turns into a much larger flood plain at high tides. Higher tides at this location allow me to approach the bird habitat from a kayak. The birds don’t seem to mind my kayak as a gently drift with the tide. Sometimes I was able to beach the bow of the kayak into the mud to remain stationary for a shot.
